Hello again!
In this post you´ll find the answers to the task about the relationship between Sam and Alicia and to the task about how a third-person narrator would be different.
I´m through the second chapter. Finally? No! It was long but really interesting and I enjoyed reading it so much.
First of all, Sam shows us some more details about his few friends and his family story. But right afterwards, the whole thing with Alicia starts. It´s Alicia´s mum´s birthday where Sam´s mum is invited to. She wants to take Sam there with her to make him meet Alicia.
I enjoyed reading the conversation between Sam and his mum because it seems so unrealistic to me that my mum tells me about a hot guy. That was quite a lot fun.
Sam finally showed his interest and they went to the party.
Now I´m gonna tell you something about the relationship between Sam and Alicia (that was one of our tasks in school today):
In the beginning, Alicia isn´t interested in Sam at all. She basically ignores him and doesn´t say anything to him (page 24).
When Sam starts making fun of her, she laughes and they started their ironic and silly conversation.
Alicia acts really clever but also kinda rude. Therefore Sam leaves her alone.
We all know that that can definitely not be the end of their story. So what happened? Alicia goes back to Sam and asks him for a second chance, which he gives her (page 30). It seems like she takes the relationship to Sam seriously now.
They start a normal conversation about music and stuff then and Alicia asks Sam for a cinema date (page 32).
I still can´t believe that Alicia then told him about her sex life and Sam thought that she wants sex with him.
They get closer step by step and they even go up to her bedroom. “drum roll”
They watch a movie – Ohh :(
The next day they meet but they don´t go to the cinema. They just go for a coffee, talk a lot and go to Alicia´s afterwards (page 39)
The next part is maybe a bit exaggerated because I don´t think that there are lots of teenagers around who would act like that. (I hope there aren´t.)
Alicia obviously wants to have sex with Sam but he isn´t sure about her motivations. When he wants to leave, Alicia starts crying (what is for sure a trick!) and then Sam stays.
Guess what happened right after that? (You´re probably right.) They have sex.
Surprised?
Not really. It´s kind of a turn in the story but it was already obviously.
I feel like they´re both not sure at all about how their relationship will be in the future. They both might think of the opportunity to be together, but it could also be only a trick of Alicia. Sam basically just slipped into all that without thinking a lot about it.
Second task was to imagine it would be a third-person narrator. What would change?
- the story would be more focused on actions and not so much on feelings
- we would probably get an objective view
- we would not only know about Sam´s view

I´m looking forward to what will happen next. Feels like pleasant anticipation :)
